As I may have mentioned before, Osaka has a reputation for comedy. Many comedians use the local dialect, Kansai-ben. This TV program decided to test the comedic instinct of the inhabitants by having a man attack them with an imaginary gun or sword. That wouldn't go over well in gun-sensitive America. I'm not sure about the soundness of the "experiment" - the presence of the camera and the staff's method of approach ("Excuse me. Do you have a minute?") probably had an influence. But it's still highly entertaining to watch, and personally I love seeing how many streets and arcades I recognize and walked down.
