“Temple of the Silver Pavilion”

Kinkakuji, the temple of the golden pavilion, is that rare example in Japanese landmarks of being exactly what’s “written on the can.” It is indeed, very gold and shiny.

Ginkakuji, on the other hand, never got around to being coated in silver, so it’s a far more calm sight.
